“Digital divide”
My zoetrope depicts the the issue of digital divide which describes the struggle of elderly people to cope with the fast technological advancement and the growing number of digital information.
Storyboard
A story of an elderly people who are trying their best to be part of society regardless of the heavy burden that they carry with them.
The burden is the fast changing digital society that isolates them.
The figure of an elderly person I designed is carrying a big globe on the back.
The globe has the text ‘www.21st’ written around it which represents the current digital-driven world.
The final design of the zoetrope illustrates two different worlds.
The spinning disk is the world of digital information / social media that keeps us busy
The other side is the peaceful world full of nature that we all seem to ignore no matter how close it is from us
