Designing a Safe

I designed a safe that opens with a biometric authentication - fingerprint. This project was inspired by an old safe that I saw from my visit to a traditional Korean house (Han-Ok 한옥) that was built over 600 years ago. The overall shape and the design interested me as I was understanding the ancient concept of storing / protecting precious items.

The old safe was using a traditional locking mechanism with a simple lock that opens with a key. It made me want to add a modern touch to the old safe and redesign it into a tool that could be used today while keeping the traditional appearance of it.
